Billerica recorded an outstanding non-league boys lacrosse win yesterday, with Eastern Mass. top-ranked team Billerica scoring twice in the final 5 minutes to nip visiting No. 2 Lincoln-Sudbury, 12-10, under the lights at Calabrese Stadium. The Indians’ Cam Slatton (2 goals) snapped a 10-10 tie with 4:22 left, and then Ryan Nickerson connected for insurance with just 9 seconds remaining as BMHS (12-0) won. Billerica led 4-2 after one quarter and 6-3 at half before L-S (9-1) tied it 8-8 in the third and took a brief 9-8 lead early in the fourth stanza. Junior attack Grant Whiteway delivered 3 goals and 1 assist for Billerica, Dylan Fernandes added 3 goals, other marksmen were Ben Melaugh (1 goal, 2 assists), Chris Smith, Tim Canniff, Nickerson and Fernandes. Goalie DJ Smith made 11 saves and defensive standouts were Jim Holland, Sean Dougherty, Mike Curley, Ian Abrahamson, Sean McLaughlin and Tom McLaughlin.
